Catholic Youth Services

Catholic Youth Services (CYS) is the agency within the Archdiocese of Sydney serving youth and young adults. Catholic Youth Services aims to help young people come to an ever deeper encounter with Christ. This journey towards Christ is one that never ends, we all find ourselves at different places, and we continually invite young people to join us wherever they are at that time. Catholic Youth Services in all its outreach activities - social, spiritual or formative - seeks to support and guide youth and young adults towards an ever deeper encounter with Christ, with themselves and with the Church. As well as the events that Catholic Youth Services hosts across a year, the agency also works closely with parishes and schools. In parishes we work with current youth ministry coordinators offering ongoing formation and fellowship opportunities as well as always looking to bring more young people into positions of leadership with fellow youth. In schools our presence is through the work of our NET Mission team. This team made up of 5-8 young people from around Australia and the world give a year of their lives to work exclusively with young people. The conduct many retreat and leadership days with school students and provide an ongoing presence in the Archdiocese at numerous events and activities. As the Archdiocesan agency for youth, we also endeavour to facilitate links between young Catholic groups and movements, and act as a reference point for youth activity across the Archdiocese.
