Brisbane Self Defence

Self Defence Brisbane is a newly established community group, offering free self-defence training to all those willing to learn. Head instructor Paul Malgapo runs the program, offering a training curriculum that covers techniques from Wing Chun Kung Fu, Boxing, and Muay Thai. There are three key training groups that will have a customised training curriculum as follows: Women's Self Defence Children & Teen's Self Defence Open Adult Self Defence (Men & Women) As the training school is in it's early stages of commencement, only the Women's Self Defence training is currently available on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The Childrens/Teens and Open Adult groups will commence at a later date. Paul Malgapo has 14 years experience as a martial artist, trained in Wing Chun Kung Fu, Boxing, Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. The primary focus of the training delivered by Paul, is to provide participants with a key foundation of knowledge and skills to prepare individuals for dangerous and unexpected threatening scenarios of violence, attacks, etc. As opposed to delivering a full training curriculum of any individual martial art. This is a free community service provided by Paul, empowering anyone interested in learning with the knowledge of self-defence. With future intentions of collaborating with other like-minded martial artists, Paul seeks volunteers of the broader martial arts community to also contribute to self-defence workshops at the school. Ultimately the goal for Paul is to one day have a regular open school for all Brisbane locals, to improve the overall safety of the community.
