Backyard In A Box

The movement towards sustainability is occurring in schools Australia wide with the recent roll out of a new curriculum strand Sustainability. Set up a sustainable oasis of your own in your backyard, courtyard or balcony. Learn and instil important lifelong dispositions in your children with the Backyard in a Box Community and School Readiness Kits. These kits give your family all the guidance you'll need to set up and maintain clean, organic and environmentally friendly practices in your home. Backyard In A Box assists educators to develop and implement programs to support sustainable practice by employing a framework of principles, practices and outcomes supported by the Early Years Learning Framework and it’s associated Being, Belonging, and Becoming, Learning Outcomes. Teachers and Educators can immediately move towards embedding sustainable practices in service operations and demonstrate competence in sustainable practice by becoming an Accredited EcoPreschool. By making submissions to the Backyard In A Box Brilliance Awards your school or centre will earn Accreditation Stars for your centre signage, ensuring your entire community knows about your commitment to sustainability.
